It all started with a dream, a vision by one man. To help those in need. It then became a personal project for me. My name is Keith Curtis and I want to help those less fortunate. Welcome to the Helping Hands Reaching Across America page. We are here simply for one reason. To help those in need. It started out as a little project I dreamt up. Have you ever watched those television shows like Extreme Makeover Home Edition or some of Oprahs shows? If yes, then you know how happy those people are when they are picked to be helped out. And that is where we come in. I decided that it was time to make sure that ordinary people like you and me who are have fallen on hard times due to the economy and the disasters we face each day. I sometimes believe we often forget our own people. When other countries have problems the USA is the first and sometimes only one to respond. But where is the help when we need it? Where are the concerts to raise money for the victims of the oil spills? Where are the jobs for the unemployed? It is about time we, the people, got together and helped each other out. To take back America as we once knew it. Step by step, Inch by inch. That is why I created this page. Not only is this where you can come to help others out, but the big thing is YOU GET TO CHOOSE who to help out. Not like the other places you give money too. With them, you sometimes wonder where does the money really go? But here, with Helping Hands Reaching Across America, you will see where it goes because YOU CHOOSE where it goes and it will be taped live each and every time. The concept is that easy… People submit letters, tapes, whatever they want and if they really need help, they will get posted on this site and you will get to vote for who you think needs help the most. I will document the journey along the way with a video camera and surprise them at their door with your donations. The more donations the more money there is to help people out. But YOU WILL ALWAYS CHOOSE. I want to make sure that everything about this website is controlled by the people, for the people, every step of the way. You will get to decide which questions I will ask people, what the donation amount will be in some cases, and even if you would like to donate to me for my hard work. Remember I have to pay for travel and expenses. Everything I do will be documented so you know exactly where your money is going and you get to see just how much your donations help! And even better yet, if we reach a staggering amount of donations then one of our main objectives is to create jobs for people in this time of need. For example, we could open a franchise or a daycare or anything for that matter. Whatever YOU want. Again, you will decide. You will submit ideas when that time comes and you will decide what will help out the most and vote on those ideas and thats what we will do. We want to make sure you are here every step of the way. And get the recognition you deserve for everything you donate too. This will constantly be updated so you know whats going on. Again, you control everything we do. How great is that? You get to feel better helping someone out and you actually get a say-so in where your donations go. Please join me in making this journey possible. Lets make those less fortunate than us happy! Everything is controlled by you. Our goal is this… $1.00 from a million people. Who will miss a single dollar? No one really. (of course, you can give any amount you want) This will give many people that you choose new opportunities and if we reach the million dollar mark, we can open up a business that you choose to create jobs in this tough economy. If we never reach 1,000,000 then whatever we have collected thus far will be donated to the ones you vote for instead. Nonetheless your donations will help out for sure! You vote, you tell us where it will go and who it will help out! And everything will be documented!!! So you will see exactly where your money goes! Let me reiterate that all pictures, videos, stories, blogs, the entire journey, and all good things will be documented as I would love to share with all of you just how amazing this will be. And with your help, we can make this happen, Lets do this! Let us help America and it’s people. Let us give people back their pride and joy. How many of us know people and families that need help desperately? I’m sure we all do. So submit and get others to submit. Then you will all vote and be part of helping out those less fortunate. Our first letter for help

The First Submission - I hope everyone can help please! You can help change someones life and make it better. Thank you and God Bless.

Dear Keith (HHRAA),

I am writing this letter to you because I heard you have some organization that helps people in need. Well, my best friend of 30 years is in bad need of help right now. She was fired from her job over a year ago because they eliminated her position. She has several health problems which prevent her from doing most jobs. She applied for disability and was denied, appealed and denied again. She was in the hospital a little over a month ago and the hospital personnel actually asked her why she wasn’t on disability being as she has all these health problems. She told them she was denied, so the hospital filed on her behalf! But of course everything takes time and there is still no guarantee she will get it. In the meantime, her house (that is falling apart around her in a bad way) will go into foreclosure if she doesn’t have $2000. by March 15th. Lori has lliving with her a 17 year old son who is a senior in high school, an 18 year old daughter who is in Medical assistant school with her own 1 year old daughter. Where will they go if their house is lost? Her water was turned off the other day, borrowed the money from her mother who is a widow herself to get the water turned back on. Everything else is getting turned off soon. Her mother cannot help her. I can’t help her. And even though she is in the financial state she is in, one of her daughter’s friends didn’t have a coat, she had an extra around the house so she gave it to him!!! She would literally give you the shirt off her back if she could, but those shirts are few and far between. Last year her food stamps were cut because her brother paid a few house payments to help her and they considered that “income” ! Ridiculous. Her brother is no longer able to help because his grandson has been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and he has to help his daughter with costs from that. Everyone does not have family that can help! I am seriously worried about what will happen to her. Who can take in a woman and 3 children?? Please give her any assistance you can. She is very deserving. I would also ask for help in repairing her home, but she may soon have no home to repair! Thank you for any help you can give her.
